How do I open an account with HC Securities?
To open an account with HC Securities, simply visit the Join Us page of our website and submit your details.
Are there any fees associated with opening or maintaining an account?
No, there are no joining or account keeping fees when you open an account with HC Securities.
What products can I trade with HC Securities?
HC Securities offer a range of products to suit every investor:

Unfortunately you cannot fax or email your application; you will need to post the original copies. Please be sure to include your original certified identification.
What type of supporting documentation do I need to provide with my account application?

What is certified identification?
A certified document is a true copy of an original document certified by an eligible person. To have your document certified, you will need to give both the original document and the copy to the eligible person. When they are certifying the document they must state their full name, the capacity in which they are authorised to certify documents, the date the document was certified and ensure they sign the document.
Who is eligible to certify documents?
If I transfer my existing E*Trade account to HC Securities, will I still be able to access it as normal? Will my account details remain the same?
Yes. Your account details will remain the same and you will still be able to access your account online, and place trades in the same way as you always have. The benefits of transferring your account are that, in addition to your regular access, you will be able to speak to HC Securities’ advisors and place trades over the phone or by email.
How can I update my contact details?
Simply complete and submit a Change of Details form, which you can download from the Forms page of the website.
How do I log into my account?
To log into your account simply click the Log In link at the top of this page, then select your account type. You will be directed to the relevant login page for your account.
How do I deposit funds into my trading account?

To deposit funds into your trading account via cheque, you will need to make the cheque payable to your Account Name, as listed on your HC Securities application. Cheques will need to be posted to:

Once your account has been approved and you have received your login details, simply login to the platform and fund your account. IG Markets welcomes payment by a variety of methods. For our convenience, a summary of payment options accepted by IG Markets and relevant administration fees has been provided below.

Important Note for New Zealand Residents: Certain strategies offered by HC Securities require the base currency of your IG Markets trading account to be set to AUD. As such, all funds deposited in NZD will be automatically converted to AUD and subject to IG Markets current conversion rate.
Thinkorswim
HC Securities recommends completing an international wire transfer which takes approximately 3 – 5 business days. This can be arranged by providing your bank with the details listed below.

When completing a wire transfer, you must designate 'Penson Financial Services' as the Beneficiary, and list your thinkorswim account name and number as the Final Beneficiary. Also, please write “TOS” in the notes/memo section of the wire. Thinkorswim will not accept third party wire transfers so the name on the wire must match the name on the thinkorswim account.
Important: All transferred funds must be sent in US dollars.

Simply complete and submit a Change of Nominated Bank Account form which you can download from the Forms page of the website.
How do I place an order?
HC Securities takes orders over the phone on +61 2 8917 2900 and via email at orders@hcsecurities.com.au When placing an order, please have your account name and account number ready.
Can I place orders at any time?
Yes, you may place an order at any time. If you place an order after market close, your order will automatically be placed in a queue to be entered into the market during the pre-open period of the next business day.

Can I trade online?
Yes you can. All of the platforms that HC Securities use allow online trading.
